About Us
Dr. Larry Loo, the inventor of the WondeRip®
tablesaw fence, has been an amateur woodworker since the age of
6 or 7 when an uncle gave him a set of hand tools and instructions
in their use. As an adult he began to use power tools and became
intrigued with the speed and ease with which they allowed him to
complete his woodworking projects. He has always been ill-at-ease,
however, when operating high speed power tools, especially tablesaws.
For many years he’s felt that woodworkers who operate tablesaws
should have better and more precise methods of ripping wood than
using unsteady pushsticks to push wood through the saw blades. The
WondeRip® tablesaw fence is the culmination
of his many years of thought and experimentation on solutions for
this problem.
His background includes employment as a design engineer for a large
U.S. chemical manufacturing firm for almost a decade after graduation
from Stanford University. He then returned to school and received
a medical degree from the Univ. of Texas Medical School. After completing
residency training, Dr. Loo served as a missionary physician, working
in several countries of Africa. Before retiring in 2001 he rounded
out his medical career as a California family practitioner and finally
a medical administrator for the State of California. Over the years
but especially during the time he spent in Africa, Dr. Loo found
that he had to build devices and innovate to make life comfortable
for his family and provide the best medical treatment possible for
his patients. After retiring from medicine it was a natural transition
for him to start up a company, Wazee Products, to produce tools
that he hopes will facilitate the tasks of woodworkers.
In keeping with his lifelong belief that anything that’s made
should be made well, Wazee Products is committed to producing high
quality tools at the lowest possible prices to consumers. Strong
and durable materials and finishes were chosen for the WondeRip®
fence. Wazee Products stands behind every tool it sells to insure
that every customer obtains the utmost usefulness and satisfaction
from it.
